Sense Of Sound Voices Festival
It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here, but there has been no shortage of excitement…
Back in March, Sense of Sound ran their second ‘Voices’ A Cappella Music Festival. It was a great weekend of performances and masterclasses, and the highlight for me was singing on the first night at Sense Of Sound Singers’ Joni Mitchell Tribute featuring Connie Lush. I sang a solo on ‘A Case of You’, backed by Kaya Herstad, Jan Ross, Clare Chandler, Mark Asquith and Krystina Dodd. It was a real privilege; in fact, it was my favourite vocal performance I have ever done, and it received a great response.
A link to a great review of the show is below…

“But the absolute highlight of the show for me was the gorgeous A Case of You, which was sung by five of the choir up above us on a balcony. It was so beautifully done that we had collective tears welled up by the end.”
Sense of Sound also received a lovely email from a spectator…
Dear Sense of Sound,
I would like to thank you for you and Connie Lush’s wonderful versions of Joni Mitchell’s songs you performed on the 16th March
I didn’t know what to expect and my friend dropped out at the last minute but I decided to go alone in the end and I am so glad I did.
It was a beautiful evening and many of the songs you performed I didn’t know but it gave a picture of Joni as an artist, activist, songwriter of depth, sorrow and joy.
There are two versions of A Case of You that I prefer to Joni Mitchell’s – kd Lang’s and your performance of it. Whoever sang that song possessed it. Brilliant.
Thanks, what you do has such value.
Yours,
Tim H
