Tonight, a band of five – Katie Lochead, Izzy Owen, Anya Keating, Zia Larty-Healy and I – supported The Valentine Brothers at The O2 Academy, Liverpool. This is the second time Katie, Izzy and I have supported the band, following on from the Epstein Theatre gig a couple of months ago. We were very pleased to be asked back, and we added Zia and Anya to the ensemble to allow for more depth and give us more options for the harmonies.
The night was a great success, with a fabulous first support slot from Sophia Ben-Yousef, followed by our five song set, consisting of our own acoustic versions of I’m Yours by Jason Mraz, Lego House and Give Me Love by Ed Sheeran, Your Song by Elton John and Rolling In The Deep by Adele. It turned out to be an exciting and varied set, with all five singers taking it in turns to take the lead. Our set was well received; the audience were fantastic and very supportive and the venue’s sound team and staff were extremely professional and patient, which made things very easy for us. The sound equipment they have at their disposal is excellent and it was a real pleasure to play there and it was one of my favourite gigs I’ve played to date.
The Valentine Brothers smashed their set and the audience absolutely loved their performance.
Photos of the gig will follow.
