On Thursday 26th May, Birkenhead High School Academy were visited by soon-to-be-100 year old ex-headmistress, Margaret Beddoes. She was asked how she wanted to mark her special occasion and she replied that she would like to visit her old school. I had the privilege of leading Amy Chalmers’ junior choir, performing her arrangement of Nik Kershaw’s ‘The Sky’s The Limit’.

The girls were fantastic and it was an exciting and worthwhile occasion for everyone involved.

The families and their supporters have displayed the best of humankind over the past 27 years and to sing on the steps of St George’s Hall in support of them was poignant and unforgettable.
