Concert For Peace 2018
The second annual Concert for Peace took place at the Floral Pavillion on 20th June 2018. Organised by Amy Chalmers, the event boasted an eclectic bill including various school choirs including Birkenhead High School Academy’s choirs plus artists including MiC Lowry, Anna Corcoran, Rob Vincent and Ian Prowse. I led Over The Water and The Luminelles in performances in their own right and alongside Bidston Avenue Primary School in a rendition of Man In The Mirror.
Over The Water performed Peace Is Just A Word by The Eurythmics, featuring moving solos from Claire Vicars, Dionne McHugh and Nina Cox followed by Blinded By Your Grace which included a rapped verse from Kelly Nsutebu.
As well as performing with Bidston Avenue Primary School, The Luminelles sang Symphony by Clean Bandit, introducing Carys Barber and Jess Lattin as soloists for the first time with the group. They both shone!
The concert ended with a rousing finale performance of ‘All You Need Is Love’ by all the choirs and led by the solo artists from throughout the night.
The concert raised thousands of pounds for Doctors Without Borders, a charity who treat people across the world whose needs are the greatest.
