Liverpool Pride 2017
Led by Jennifer John and I, Love Sings performed at Liverpool Pride’s ‘We Are Family’ day on the steps of St George’s Hall on Sunday 30th July 2017. The theme was International Love and six diverse choirs came together to collaborate for the second year running. The first half saw individual performances from all the choirs including ‘Over The Water’ who performed Symphony by Clean Bandit (with Nina Cox on lead vocals) and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell (with Emma Bispham on lead vocals). We were joined by Jason Tebble on bass.
The second half saw all six choirs singing as one, performing a set dedicated to International Love. Our setlist was as follows –
We Are Family (Sister Sledge)
I’m Coming Out (Diana Ross)
Rule The World (Take That)
Harvest For The World (The Christians)
One Love (Bob Marley)
True Colours (Cyndi Lauper)
With A Little Help From My Friends (The Beatles)
What A Wonderful World (Louis Armstrong)
The six choirs were as follows –
Over The Water
Up For Arts Community Choir
Liverpool LGBT Choir
Handbag Of Harmonies
The wonderful Thomas Lang joined us for Wonderful World, adding his lush lead vocal over the choir backing.
The festival is such a glorious celebration of all that is good about Liverpool and we were very proud to be involved again.
