Proud at Pride
I’ve just got back from Liverpool Pride, which was fabulous. I sang with Sense of Sound on the main stage, played piano for Jay Norton on the Summer Of Love stage, and sang with a few of the Together Pop Choir girls, also on the Summer Of Love stage.
It never ceases to amaze me how talented the girls are, and no matter how many or how few of them there are, they always pull it out of the bag. Jase also performed with us, and he played with Jay earlier on too; it was the first time Jase, Jay and I had performed together, (they had worked together while I was away in Spain).
Anyway, back to the point… Pride was fabulous and had such a great atmosphere. Specifically, I was made up to see some teenagers that I teach amongst the crowd, having an amazing time and being confident and happy to be able to express themselves. When I was a teenager, society didn’t seem to be as comfortable with people expressing their sexuality so openly.
